Fire Prevention
The North Bergen Fire Prevention Bureau conducts State mandated fire inspections throughout the Township. All buildings that are inspected must meet New Jersey Fire Code requirements. All inspectors are certified by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety. The purpose of these inspections are to enforce the New Jersey Fire Code and educate the public's awareness about the danger of fire.
Services
- Conduct fiscal year State mandated fire inspections throughout the Township
- Respond to all complaints from the general public of suspected fire code violations
- Respond to all requests to teach Fire Safety and Prevention awareness throughout the Township
- Conduct fire investigations at fire scenes to determine the origin and cause
- Respond to incidents of possible Juvenile Firesetters and refer them to the proper agencies for assessment
