Lawler Towers Commemorates Building’s 57th Anniversary with a Lively Party
May 24, 2024The residents of Lawler Towers celebrated the 57th anniversary of the building on Tuesday, May 21 with Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Commissioners Hugo Cabrera and Claudia Rodriguez, Assemblyman Julio Marenco, and County Commissioner Bob Baselice.
It was a grand gathering, with more than 100 people attending, all excited for a night of delightful food, music, and dancing. Attendees enjoyed a delicious spread of Spanish rice, pernil, chicken, sausage, pasta, and more, catered by Sal’s and La Chozita restaurants.
Three young dancers from Yolanda Academy of Music and Dance entertained the crowd with energetic performances. Samirah Riverol, age 13, and Amy Diaz and Arianny Madrid, both age 8, whirled about the floor in beautiful costumes, to the delight of the audience.
The event also included a raffle for dozens of great gifts, plus a live DJ that gave the opportunity for seniors to hit the dance floor. The event was spearheaded by Housing Authority Executive Director Gerald Sanzari, Building Manager Doreen Martinez, Assistant Manager Ester Cordero, and their dedicated staff.
