Elsa Robles Honored as North Bergen’s Senior of the Year
May 10, 2024Mayor Nicholas Sacco joined Cullum resident Elsa Robles for an elegant luncheon at the Liberty House in Jersey City on Wednesday, May 8, where she was honored as North Bergen’s Senior of the Year.
The annual event in Jersey City was hosted by Hudson County Executive Craig Guy to celebrate outstanding senior citizens from each municipality in the county.
Born on Nov. 1, 1949, Elsa Robles has resided in the Cullum Building since April 1, 2014 with her husband of 50 years, Manuel. They have two daughters, four granddaughters, and two grandsons.
Elsa studied office technology and commercial secretarial skills in her native Peru and received first place awards in high school for math and spelling.
Here in North Bergen, she worked at Rainbow Kids Daycare for 20 years and volunteered her time as a librarian in her parish for 20 years. She assists with Cullum’s tenants’ association with all activities and is always willing to help her neighbors while being caring and respectful.
Elsa’s proud family attended the luncheon to express their support, along with Housing Authority Executive Director Gerald Sanzari and members of the Housing Authority staff, and County Commissioner Robert Baselice.
