The Tonnelle Avenue Bridge and Utility Relocation Project has issued the following construction notice:

Effective immediately, pedestrian access along Tonnelle Avenue has changed to accommodate the next phase of construction.

Closure of approximately 1,500 feet of the sidewalk on the west side (southbound) of Tonnelle Avenue.

Installation of a temporary sidewalk on the east side (northbound) of Tonnelle Avenue.

Details:

1. Pedestrians are directed to use the east side (northbound) sidewalk at designated crossings near Route 3 and Taco Bell. Detour signage is provided.
    
2. Pedestrians must adhere to signs and remain within the marked walkway for safety.

This project consists of utility relocation and the construction of a new roadway bridge to carry Tonnelle Avenue over a new railroad right-of-way (ROW) for the new Hudson Tunnel Project. This new ROW will allow for a connection to a new tunnel portal at the western slope of the New Jersey Palisades.
