The dance floor was packed at The Boulevard on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023 when Mayor Nicholas Sacco’s annual Senior Picnic attracted busload after busload of residents eager to party. Dozens of tables filled both sides of the ballroom, with the center dancefloor left open for the enthusiastic dancers. Plenty of food was served, including desserts and drinks, with a live DJ spinning tunes throughout and a raffle of many prizes to cap the event.

Mayor Nicholas Sacco hosted the event as he has done every year since its inception more than 30 years ago, personally greeting and taking photos with the attendees. Joining him to wish everyone a good time were many local and regional dignitaries, including Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, Assemblyman Pedro Mejia, County Commissioner Robert Baselice, former Township Commissioner Frank Gargiulo, and all four current commissioners: Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri.

The event is coordinated every year by Karen Pianese and the staff of North Bergen’s Community Services Department, along with Executive Director Gerald Sanzari and the North Bergen Housing Authority.
