The North Bergen Police Department announced their officer of the month for December 2022 is Detective Christopher Orellana.

On Dec. 6, 2022, the department received a report of an armed robbery involving a handgun. Detective Orellana diligently investigated the crime using various investigative techniques. As a result of his extensive investigation, the suspect was ultimately apprehended by Detective Orellana in possession of a loaded firearm.

Detective Orellana's conscientiousness and attentiveness to this investigation led to the arrest of a dangerous offender and the removal of an illegal firearm off the streets that will no longer be a threat to the community’s public safety.
