Hugely Popular ‘Touch-a-Truck’ Event Attracts Crowds of Kids
August 19, 2022Hundreds of kids and their families showed up to “Touch-a-Truck” in the main library parking lot on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. With vehicles from the police, fire department, DPW sheriff’s department, EMT, and more, everyone enjoyed the opportunity to climb aboard, hit the sirens, and learn about the trucks and the people who use them.
Some kids even suited up in firefighter gear or hefted SWAT equipment to really get the feel of it. Youngsters enjoyed free face painting while a K-9 officer happily greeted everyone. Afterward, the library treated one and all to free ice cream from – you guessed it – an ice cream truck.
Library Executive Director Sai Rao and her staff made sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
