NBA basketball player Kyle Anderson of the Minnesota Timberwolves hosted the Celebrate Life Basketball Tournament & Clinic at Braddock Park on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022. Hundreds of kids from many municipalities joined North Bergen to participate in this special event.

Anderson, a former North Bergen resident, hosted the basketball clinic in the morning, followed by a basketball tournament in the afternoon and evening. Boys and girls ages 7 years old through high school participated in the event.

Mayor Nicholas Sacco attended the event, along with Commissioners Julio Marenco and Allen Pascual, and County Commissioner Anthony Vainieri to support and appreciate Anderson’s work.

The Celebrate Life Day Basketball Tournament & Clinic was established to honor Anderson’s childhood Paul Kim and to raise awareness of suicide prevention.
