North Bergen High School students attended their graduation ceremony in Bruin Stadium on Thursday, June 23, with the enthusiastic support of family and friends.

 

The 538 graduates received congratulations from Mayor Nicholas Sacco, who provided words of support, counsel, and encouragement for their future endeavors. This year’s salutatorian was Edwin Ortez Arevalo, and the valedictorian was Kelly Cho.

 

The invocation was given by Imam Mohammad Alhayek of the North Hudson Islamic Education Center, while the benediction was given by Father Yuvan Alvarez from Our Lady of Fatima Church. Other speakers included Chief School Administrator Dr. George Solter and High School Principal Richard Locricchio.

 

Kanaiyalal Patel, the president of the North Bergen Board of Education, presented diplomas to the graduates with the assistance of Laurie Troiano.

 

Mina Abdella and Jason Bedrossian served as masters of ceremony, with the salute to the flag presented by Genevive Brinkerhoff.
