The Township administration is pleased to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month with numerous activities in June:
 

• First up is the Pride Cookout and Meet & Greet in Braddock Park, directly across from the library, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9. Come out for food, music, and a chance to be loud & proud. This event is hosted by Police Officer Jen Fernandez, the NBPD’s LGBTQ+ liaison, and the North Bergen Police Department.
   
• Next, the library is hosting a Queer Zine and Button DIY Workshop at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. Make your own Pride buttons. Create and share zines. Materials will be provided. This event will take place at the uptown library, 8411 Bergenline Ave.
   
• Following that, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 the library is hosting an LGBTQ+ Latinx Information & Resource Session. Join Elvis Guiracocha from the Hudson Pride Center for this bilingual session over Zoom on community resources for LGBT+ Latinxs. The presentation section of the event will be recorded and attendees will be anonymous. Register at NBPL.org/calendar.

Pride Month celebrates the history of the LGBTQ+ community and promotes equality and social justice. North Bergen is committed to continue building a progressive community that is accepting and welcoming to people of all backgrounds, and to ensure that all our residents feel welcomed and included without living in fear over whom they choose to love.
