Needy Residents Can Sign Up to Receive Meals Delivered Free at Home

February 25, 2022
The Coalition for Food and Health Equity (CFHE) offers a free weekly meal delivery program for individuals experiencing food insecurity. The Hunger Project (THP) delivers fresh, warm meals to residents, including the senior population, homeless individuals, and persons with disabilities.

To sign up, email kyro@hudsoncountyhungerproject.com.

THP outsources the production and delivery of all meals to local community eateries and restaurants, who create dinner meal boxes for our residents. Meals are described as a “hug in a box,” composed of wholesome, hearty, and nutritious ingredients.

The Hunger Project was established by a collective of Greater Hudson County and New York City residents in March 2020 as a grassroots community meal program supporting local restaurants and food insecure residents in Hudson County.

The program is one of a kind: a free meal subscription program for vulnerable populations, with a focus on fresh, nutritious meals. CFHE works closely with partnering restaurants to make any necessary modifications to clients’ meals, ensuring that they receive the best possible options to improve their health and wellbeing while also supporting local small businesses.
