Chick-fil-A Comes to North Bergen
November 22, 2021There’s great news for the many residents who have been waiting eagerly for Chick-fil-A to open on Tonnelle Avenue: Mayor Nicholas Sacco cut the ribbon officially opening the restaurant on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021. For now, only the drive-thru is open as construction continues on the property next door, but the full menu of delicious options is available, including their signature chicken sandwiches with special Chick-fil-A sauce, waffle fries, milkshakes, breakfasts, and desserts.
Owner/operator Adam Smith has been a Chick-fil-A employee since he was 18 years old, working his way up to owning his own franchise in California. As a new dad, he opted to move back home to the East Coast and chose North Bergen for its location, people, and opportunities. The ribbon cutting took place on his birthday.
Chick-fil-A began in 1947 in Atlanta, adopting the familiar name in 1967. In recent years they’ve expanded substantially in the northeast, garnering countless fans for their tender and tasty chicken. The company sent trainers from across the U.S. – Texas, Virginia, Georgia, California – to provide three weeks of instruction and oversight at the new location.
Mayor Sacco was joined by Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Frank Gargiulo, and Julio Marenco for the ribbon cutting, along with County Commissioner Anthony Vainieri, Police Chief Peter Fasilis, Parking Authority Executive Director Robert Baselice, NHRFR Executive Director Michael DeOrio, and numerous other public officials.
North Bergen’s Chick-fil-A is located at 7417 Tonnelle Ave. and is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Sunday.
