Congratulations to North Bergen Health Director Janet Castro on being named one of Hudson County Women’s History Month Honorees.

The county paid tribute to women from each municipality for their selfless, compassionate, and noble acts for the last year during the COVID-19 crisis. Janet received the honor for her tireless work as the Licensed Health Officer for the Township of North Bergen, leading us through the pandemic for more than a year now, spearheading our ongoing programs to protect the community and save lives through education, testing, contact tracing, vaccinations, and much more.

Through shared services agreements with neighboring municipalities, Janet also represents Union City, Guttenberg, Weehawken, Secaucus, and Harrison. She has been with the department for 17 years and was named Health Officer in 2014.
