After a terrific first weekend on Broadway, North Bergen’s popular new “Eat & Shop Local” event is moving to a new location starting this Friday, to help benefit more local restaurants and businesses who were impacted by the pandemic.

From 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 until 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020 Bergenline Avenue will be closed to traffic between 78th Street and 82nd Street to create a pedestrian mall. Local restaurants and businesses will expand into the street to serve customers while maintaining safe social distancing.

Mayor Nicholas Sacco and the Board of Commissioners invite everyone to come out and enjoy shopping and a delicious meal in North Bergen’s world-class restaurants, including the following:

• Alfaro’s Restaurant
• Asian Fusion
• Harry’s Food and Drink
• La Kausa
• Mi Tierra Cafe
• Tapas De España
• Trattoria La Sorrentina

Plenty of parking is available in the Bruin Stadium parking lot inside Braddock Park, or in the brand-new angled parking spots along Bergenline Avenue north of 82nd Street.

“Eat & Shop Local” will continue through August, with traffic-free pedestrian sections along a different portion of Bergenline Avenue every weekend. Please join the township in supporting our small business owners.
