Notify PSE&G About Life-Sustaining Equipment
August 13, 2020In the wake of extensive power outages resulting from Tropical Storm Isaias, residents should be reminded that if you (or a member of your household) rely on electricity to operate life-sustaining equipment, such as a respirator or dialysis machine, it is important that you notify PSE&G.
PSE&G will then send you a form that must be completed and signed by the prescribing medical professional every year to verify the use of life-sustaining equipment. Once the form is returned and approved by PSE&G, your account will have an indicator that life-sustaining equipment is used in your home.
When the risk of power outages is high due to forecasted severe weather, PSE&G will notify you by telephone of the potential for outages and the need for a contingency plan since restoration times cannot be guaranteed.
During power outages that affect your area, PSE&G will call to provide outage and restoration information.
