Santa Claus Parades Through North Bergen in 20th Annual Celebration
December 12, 2019For the 20th year in a row, Santa Claus cruised through North Bergen in style atop a colorful float complete with reindeer, as part of the annual Santa Parade sponsored by the North Hudson Fire Unions Charitable Foundation. Santa and Mrs. Claus were accompanied by a vast assortment of friends, including Mickey & Minnie, My Little Pony, Peppa Pig, clowns, princesses, elves, and many more.
Kids and families lined up along Bergenline Avenue from 85th Street all the way to 32nd Street on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 to view the parade and cheer on the floats and performers. Marching from North Bergen through Guttenberg, West New York, and Union City, the parade included a train float presented by Mayor Nicholas Sacco and a “Winter Wonderland” float presented by Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt.
Among the many others joining the festivities were the Union City High School band, ROTC, and fire engines and emergency response vehicles from Weehawken, West New York, Bayonne, Cliffside Park, Ridgefield, Lyndhurst, Hudson County, and North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue.
Led by a procession of motorcycles representing law enforcement throughout the county, the parade not only put smiles on the faces of kids in the neighborhood, it also served as a fundraiser for local schools and children’s groups.
