Fulton School Welcomes Dads on Take Your Child to School Day
September 20, 2018North Bergen’s Robert Fulton School hosted a “Dads Take Your Child to School” Event on Tuesday morning, Sept. 18. Hundreds of parents and guardians gathered in the gym for an educational and entertaining morning session.
Spearheading the event was Resource Development Specialist Lenny Martinez from the Hudson County Department of Family Services, Division of Child Protection and Permanency, in coordination with Principal Thelma Noreen Garcia and the staff of Fulton School. Superintendent Dr. George Solter offered his accolades to the dads, granddads, stepdads, foster dads, and other male authority figures who participated in the day as role models for the students.
Numerous organizations provided valuable resources at information tables, including the North Bergen Free Public Library, North Bergen Health Department, North Hudson Community Action Center, Palisade Family Success Center, PSE&G, State of Fitness Boxing Gym, We Are One New Jersey, and Woodcliff Community Church.
In addition to musical performances by the school band, attendees were treated to the singing of two talented Fulton School students: eighth grader Michelle Carpio and fifth grader Nadia Nale. Also on hand to meet with the parents and show their support were Commissioners Julio Marenco and Allen Pascual.
Local vendors who generously donated food and beverages included Cuomo’s Deli, Hudson Bread, Modern Spin Restaurant, Nu-Way Food Service, and Rose’s Deli.
