New Ambulance Upgrades EMS Fleet
August 16, 2018North Bergen’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has acquired a new four-wheel-drive ambulance to replace the oldest vehicle in the fleet. The new ambulance is designed for heavy-duty service to ensure it will perform efficiently and reliably on North Bergen’s hilly terrain in any type of weather.
With the oldest ambulance retiring, the EMS fleet maintains a total of five ambulances in rotation. Three are in service at all times and two are kept in reserve.
North Bergen began handling Guttenberg EMS services in June of this year in addition to the township’s own calls. The new Type 1 Chevrolet 2018 vehicle allows the township to maintain a state-of-the-art fleet of complete-service ambulances to keep residents of both municipalities safe and protected at all times.
