Four members of the NY Giants football team visited North Bergen to put student athletes through their paces on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The “Play 60” event was part of a drive to promote healthy activity in association with the American Heart Association.

Kids spent an hour practicing various sports activities in Bruin Stadium under the direction of the Giants, enjoying the personal interactions – and getting many items signed by the athletes. The program also encouraged students to learn CPR, and offered them the opportunity to win a football signed by the entire Giants team, and even tickets to the Superbowl.

The event concluded with the NY Giants presenting two $10,000 checks, one to North Bergen Recreation Football and the other to the North Bergen High School Bruins.

Mayor Nicholas Sacco was on site to thank the team for their generous support. He was joined by Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allan Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri, Schools Superintendent Dr. George Solter, Library Executive Director Sai Rao, Housing Authority Executive Director Julio Marenco, and many other township officials and employees.
