North Bergen was the launchpad for “Caravan for a Free Cuba” on Sunday, Mar. 15, with a long parade of vehicles traveling down Bergenline Avenue draped in Cuban and American flags and banners.

 

Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri proudly participated in the caravan, along with County Commissioner Robert Baselice, Police Chief Robert Farley, and other Township officials and police officers, expressing solidarity with the Cuban people and support for freedom and democracy.

 

Hundreds of bystanders shouted encouragement from the curb as the caravan passed from 89th Street in North Bergen through the neighboring municipalities, looping around in Union City to end on Hudson Avenue at the Cofradía de la Virgen de la Caridad.
