Potential Snowstorm Forecast for This Weekend
February 20, 2026According to the US National Weather Service, winter storm watches are now in effect for much of the region for Sunday into Monday, with the bulk of the storm occurring Sunday night into early Monday. Widespread snowfall of 5 or more inches is possible.
This is forecast to be a long duration storm, with pockets of snow (or rain mix) late Saturday night, and at times through the day on Sunday. Impacts from this should be limited based on generally light intensity, intermittence, and marginal temperatures. The main event arrives Sunday evening, and focuses late at night into Monday morning, when we’ll see the majority of our accumulation.
In addition to the snow, winds will increase, and considerable blowing and drifting is expected, even after the snow ends around midday on Monday.
