DPW Continues to Clear the Snow from North Bergen’s Streets & Sidewalks
January 30, 2026The North Bergen DPW is hard at work clearing our streets after the massive snow dump over the weekend. Workers were on Bergenline Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 28 using everything from shovels and snowblowers to heavy equipment, making sure the roadway and sidewalks are safe for pedestrians and traffic.
The work continues on Thursday and Friday. Parking is prohibited on Bergenline Avenue from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29 and on Broadway from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29 and Friday, Jan. 30. Snow is being hauled away in dump trucks.
Businesses and residents are reminded that they are required to clear their sidewalks of snow in a timely manner after a storm for public safety. By Township ordinance, it is the duty of the owner, occupant, or tenant to remove all snow and ice from the sidewalk area in front of or bordering their lands within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has ceased to fall.
