The Palestinian flag was raised over North Bergen Town Hall on Friday, Sept. 26 in a show of unity and compassion.

 

Mayor Nicholas Sacco greeted residents and guests inside the Municipal Chambers, where Rabbi Weiss, Lutheran Pastor Erich Kussman, and Mohammed Abdullah of the North Hudson Islamic Education Center came together to speak as representatives of the Abrahamic faiths.

 

The mayor presented a certificate of recognition to the Hanoon Foundation for their outstanding humanitarian service and dedication to supporting displaced families and vulnerable communities in times of crisis. He was joined by Commissioners Hugo Cabrera and Claudia Rodriguez, Assemblyman Julio Marenco, and County Commissioner Robert Baselice at the presentation and the flag-raising that followed.
