Three NBPD Officers Promoted and 11 New Officers Sworn in at Town Hall Ceremony
September 26, 2025The Township of North Bergen proudly recognized the dedication and service of three members of the North Bergen Police Department and swore in 11 new officers in a formal ceremony held at township chambers.
Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Public Safety Commissioner Allen Pascual, and Police Chief Robert Farley presided over the ceremony, commending the officers for their commitment to protecting and serving the North Bergen community.
Lieutenant Gleny Henry’s career as a police officer started in the City of East Orange in 2007, where she served for approximately five years before transferring to the NBPD. She has since held positions in Patrol, Juvenile Division, Internal Affairs, and the Detective Bureau, gaining specialized training in each division.
Lt. Henry is 42 years old and was raised in North Bergen. She attended North Bergen High School and pursued a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at New Jersey City University.
Her brother Daniel works for Hudson County Corrections.
Sergeant Indira Cabrera worked for Rutger’s Newark Police Department as a Community Service Officer assigned to the Detective Bureau, and for three and half years served as a Correction Officer at Hudson County Correctional Facility. Since 2015 she has worked in Patrol for the NBPD.
Sgt. Cabrera received the Passaic Police Academy Academic Award. She has attended several training courses and obtained numerous certificates throughout her career including Crisis Intervention. For seven years she has volunteered as counselor for Lead for Diversity to help kids in New Jersey affect change in their communities. For three years she has volunteered as a coach for the North Bergen girls’ high school basketball team during the off season.
Sgt. Cabrera is 38 years old. She was born in Manhattan, NY and raised in West New York, where she attended Memorial High School, earning high honors and receiving multiple all-county team awards in basketball and track. She attended Rutgers Newark University, where she studied criminal justice and psychology and played for the Rutger’s women’s basketball team.
Sergeant Eric Crafton has worked for the NBPD since 2012. He is assigned to Patrol and Community Services and has twice been awarded Officer of the Month. Sgt. Crafton is a decorated Army National Guard member and a mental health advocate. He has over 17 years of Army training and his list of notable military awards sets him apart from his peers.
In 2021, he received the Senate and General Assembly Joint Legislative Resolution for his outstanding work in Veteran Haven North with the NJ National Guard during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bergen County has designated May 4 as “Eric Crafton Day” for his outstanding work during the pandemic including serving as the media spokesperson for the Bergen County Vaccination Mega Site at the Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment Complex.
Sgt. Crafton is 42 years old. He was born in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and moved to New Jersey when he was 10. He has attained his GED, Associates from Hudson County Community College, Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall, and Masters in Law Enforcement Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The ceremony was attended by members of the department, township officials, and the families of the promoted officers, who proudly supported their loved ones as they stepped into their new roles.
