Bergenline Avenue is Getting Repaved This Week From 70th to 79th Streets
August 04, 2025As part of the Bergenline Streetscape Beautification Project, milling, paving, and striping work will take place on Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen this week, weather permitting.
Public Works Commissioner Anthony Vainieri announced that staging will take place on Monday between 71st & 72nd Streets in preparation for work to begin on Tuesday.
Milling and paving will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 70th to 76th Streets, and on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 76th to 79th Streets. These sections of Bergenline Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and parking will be prohibited on both sides of the street within the work zones.
These portions of roadway will be closed entirely for the duration of this work, so all vehicles must be removed no later than 7 a.m. on the designated day or they will be towed at the owner’s expense. Local businesses and residents should make preparations to have any deliveries or appointments moved or rescheduled to the following day.
Striping of the roadway will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 70th to 76th Streets and on Thursday, Aug. 7 from 76th to 79th Streets. These portions of the roadway will be open while striping takes place.
We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this significant upgrade to Bergenline Avenue.
