Hundreds Attend First North Bergen Arts Initiative Exhibition at Olyaa Gallery
August 01, 2025This past weekend marked a major milestone for the creative community as the Township proudly launched the first-ever event under the North Bergen Arts Initiative: a two-day art exhibition in collaboration with Olyaa Gallery.
Held at 704 76th Street, the event filled the gallery with hundreds of visitors who came to see the work of more than 30 talented artists, enjoy live performances, and celebrate the arts right here in North Bergen on Saturday & Sunday, Jul. 26 & July 27, 2025.
The event featured musical performances by North Bergen native rapper Willy Gonza, Daniella Renteria and her music students, the Hudson Youth Theater, and DJ Zein.
Thanks to the incredible feedback and support, the exhibit has been extended until Saturday, Aug. 2, giving even more residents the chance to experience this exciting display of local talent.
The weekend celebration was made even more enjoyable by donations of food from generous sponsors including White Castle at 90th Street, La Tia Fresa Bakery, Perfect Pizza, plus free beauty face masks from K Guardians.
Assemblyman and Housing Authority Executive Director Julio Marenco and Commissioner Claudia Rodriguez met with the artists to express their support and even wound up purchasing beautiful artwork to take home.
Olyaa Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and noon to 5 on Saturday. Come down to see the phenomenal artwork on display from North Bergen and beyond.
The North Bergen Arts Initiative is a new Township initiative spearheaded by Art Schwartz and Elisa Cintron, who coordinated this event as the first of many highlighting the importance of investing in the arts.
