NBHS Students Excel at NJ High School Consumer Bowl
February 28, 2025North Bergen High School students demonstrated their knowledge and skills in consumer awareness by participating in the New Jersey High School Consumer Bowl at High Tech High School in Secaucus on Feb. 13, 2025. The team achieved an impressive second-place finish in the Hudson County Division.
The Consumer Bowl is an educational competition established in 1997 to educate young adults on a variety of consumer issues. Approved by the New Jersey Department of Education, the competition equips students with essential knowledge on topics such as identity theft, credit card scams, internet fraud, and lemon laws. Participants answer consumer-related questions in various formats within a set time limit.
The NBHS team consisted of:
- 12th Grade: Jehiriam Hernandez, Javier Ramdhani
- 11th Grade: Myah Aponte, Armando Cruz, Eduard Culajay Xajil
- 9th Grade: Zuleika Vasquez
The students were guided and supported by their teachers: Cynthia DePice, Edwin Ventura, and Jenny Cruz. Their commitment to preparing the students for the competition played a crucial role in the team’s success.
The North Bergen Board of Education congratulated the students and educators for their outstanding performance and looks forward to their continued success in future competitions.
