North Bergen Issues Wildlife Warning Amid Increase in Raccoon Encounters
February 14, 2025The Township of North Bergen is urging residents to exercise caution following a rise in aggressive raccoon encounters. In recent weeks, six residents have reported being bitten, prompting officials to advise the community to avoid all wildlife.
To reduce the risk of encounters, residents should avoid feeding wild animals, secure trash bins, keep pets supervised outdoors, and seal any possible entry points to their homes. If you see wildlife behaving aggressively or unusually, report it immediately.
