NBPD Officers Promoted and Recognized at Oath of Office Ceremony on Feb. 5
February 06, 2025On Feb. 5, 2025, the North Bergen Police Department held an Oath of Office Ceremony at Town Hall, presided over by Public Safety Commissioner Allen Pascual and Police Chief Robert Farley Jr. The ceremony honored the following officers:
Lieutenant Constantinos Apostolakos has served with the North Bergen Police Department since 2002, bringing expertise in accident investigation, records management, and tactical operations. A two-time recipient of the MADD Distinguished Service Award, he has also been commended for heroic actions, including apprehending armed suspects and rescuing an abducted victim. He played a pivotal role in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, conducted advanced training in accident investigation and SWAT, and received the Hudson County 200 Club Valor Award for stopping a home invasion.
Sergeant George Dabal has been with NBPD for 11 years, spending eight in the Patrol Division and the last three overseeing the Property and Evidence Room. A two-time Officer of the Month, he has also received two Life Saver Awards, including one for preventing a juvenile from jumping off a cliff.
Detective Eric Vincent Weyand has served nine years in Patrol, the Detective Bureau, and Internal Affairs. Named Officer of the Year in 2017 and a five-time Officer of the Month, he holds advanced certifications in crisis intervention, interrogation, and arson investigation. And in 2020, received the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) distinguished service award for DWI enforcement efforts.
Corporal Elizabeth Sinisi has dedicated 18 years to NBPD, with 13 in Patrol, four in the Detective Bureau, and one in BCI. She has specialized training in criminal investigations, interview techniques, and forensic scene processing.
Detective Saray Durango has been with NBPD since 2003 after serving eight years in the U.S. Army National Guard. A veteran of the Patrol Division, School Resource Division, and Community Policing, he has earned multiple awards, including the Valor Award from the 200 Club of Hudson County.
Detective Christopher Nunez has been an officer for 12 years, working in Patrol, BCI, and now Internal Affairs. He is a three-time Life Saver Award recipient and was named Officer of the Month in March 2020.
