The North Bergen Recreation Center & Library has a free, on-site social worker available to assist the community in navigating city and county resources. Services include help with applying for social services such as SNAP, Medicaid, and unemployment insurance; accessing mental health services; and support with child welfare and youth-oriented programs. Additional services include providing legal service referrals, assistance with obtaining an ID or scheduling DMV appointments, referrals for drug and alcohol abuse or addiction support, advocacy support, and much more.

 

The social worker is available on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1231 Kennedy Blvd.
