North Bergen’s 46th Street Park Earns Prestigious Statewide Design Award
January 10, 2025North Bergen’s Parks & Recreation Department, alongside Remington and Vernick Engineers, has received statewide recognition for the remarkable renovation of 46th Street Park. The New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers presented a “Project of the Year” award at this year’s New Jersey State League of Municipalities conference, highlighting the park’s innovative and sustainable design.
The redesigned facility features a heat-resistant dog park, advanced stormwater technology, a spray park, an upgraded baseball field, and heat-repelling materials throughout the playground. These enhancements showcase the township’s dedication to creating spaces that prioritize community wellbeing and environmental sensitivity.
At a recent Township commission meeting, Mayor Nicholas Sacco thanked and congratulated Project Manager Donald Norbut from Remington and Vernick for the exceptional design and implementation. He was joined by Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez and Anthony Vainieri, County Commissioner Robert Baselice, and Chief of Police Robert Farley.
