The Township of North Bergen is pleased to welcome Carmelo’s Grill to the community. The new Latin restaurant, owned by North Bergen resident Carmelo Estrada, officially opened its doors at 7814 Kennedy Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 25, 2024 offering a diverse menu featuring grilled beef, pulled pork, grilled or fried chicken, fresh guacamole, salads, stews, breakfasts, and much more.

Estrada is the owner of the popular Lidia’s Deli in Palisades Park. He wanted to bring his culinary expertise to his home town of North Bergen and spent more than two years on extensive renovations before opening Carmelo’s Grill next door to his wife’s salon, Celly’s Nail Place.

The grand opening featured a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by local officials, including Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Anthony Vainieri, Claudia Rodriguez, Assemblyman Julio Marenco, and Fire Director Michael DeOrio.
