Renovations to the Main Library Begin in January
November 01, 2024The North Bergen Free Public Library held a community engagement session on Monday, Oct. 28 to discuss the upcoming renovation project at their main branch.
In partnership with the North Bergen Health Department, the library has secured $3 million from the NJ State Library to enhance the building, creating more spaces for workforce development, health resources, and educational opportunities.
At the meeting, residents had the opportunity to hear from the architect, Michael Milla, and from Library Executive Director Sai Rao and Robert Morano from the Health Department. Architectural plans were shared and many questions asked and answered.
Plans currently call for the library to close on Dec. 20, with construction to take about eight months. An additional community meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 and information will be shared regularly online through the library website and social media.
In addition, residents are encouraged to respond to the library’s survey about their services and what you’d like to see. Your feedback will help them improve and customize their offerings to better serve the community.
