Hispanic Heritage Month 2024 got off to a rousing start with the annual Dominican American Parade marching down Bergenline Avenue on Sunday, Sep. 15, 2024. The colorful celebration began at Braddock Park in North Bergen and proceeded to 43rd Street with elaborate floats, costumes, cars, military formations, live music, dancers, and more.

Spectators crowded the sidewalks on either side of the avenue to watch the festivities and cheer on the participants. Commissioner Allen Pascual marched alongside Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Town Council at the head of the parade.

Many other local and regional officials marched as well, including Congressman Rob Menendez, Assemblymen Julio Marenco and Gabriel Rodriguez, North Bergen Commissioner Allen Pascual, Mayors Richard Turner and Brian Stack, and more.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2024. North Bergen has a full calendar of activities planned to celebrate the month.
