Tips for Staying Safe in Extreme Heat

The Heat Advisory for our area has been extended to Tuesday and into Wednesday. Here are some important tips for staying safe in extreme heat:
 
  • Stay hydrated
  • If you have to work outside, try to work in the morning or evening
  • NEVER leave children or pets in a parked car
  • Check on your neighbors, especially those vulnerable to the heat
     
Remember that North Bergen offers three cooling centers for residents who need a break from the heat. For hours of availability and more information contact the North Bergen Free Public Library at 201-869-4715 or the Recreation Center at 201-861-9601.
