The playground and water park inside Braddock Park have gotten a complete overhaul, and already kids are having a ball on the many great pieces of play equipment.

 

Mayor Nicholas Sacco stopped by to visit with residents and check out the new equipment on Friday, Jun. 14 along with Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri, County Commissioner Robert Baselice, and Assemblyman Julio Marenco.

 

The “Play On!” playground has been designated as a “project of excellence” for meeting best practices in youth fitness through sliding, swinging, spinning, climbing, brachiating, and balancing, while promoting inclusive play and recreation. There are shade structures, tables for eating and games, and even freestanding musical instruments on which to bang out a makeshift symphony.

 

The feedback has been tremendous from parents. Children are busy taking advantage of the colorful spray park and the many new activities available in the massively upgraded playground.
