Mayor Nicholas Sacco welcomed the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel to North Bergen with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 9, 2018. The 102-room facility at 2650 Paterson Plank Road features a heated indoor pool, a fully-equipped gym, meeting rooms, an inviting cocktail lounge, indoor parking, and comfortable rooms and suites. A dedicated shuttle brings guests directly to Times Square in Manhattan and back.
Owner Dan Suratwala also runs the nearby Motel 8 in North Bergen. Together the two establishments employ more than 50 local employees. The NYC Gateway has already been presented with a Chairman’s Award from Best Western for a top score in quality assurance.
Founded in 1946, Best Western established the Best Western Premier brand to offer “superior accommodations, exceptional service, and first-rate amenities,” according to their website. “Spacious, upscale guest rooms welcome you with detailed finishes, premium linens, and convenient amenities such as free Wi-Fi and in-room coffee and tea maker.”
Following the ribbon cutting the mayor joined commissioners Julio Marenco and Allen Pascual and other township officials on a tour of the hotel, enjoying terrific views overlooking the Meadowlands.
