With an unpredictable storm approaching the area, North Bergen’s Department of Public Works is ready for anything.
Forecasters are unsure at this time if the region will see snow, rain, high winds, or a combination of all three, so DPW employees are geared up for whatever comes our way. That means having 4,000 tons of salt in reserve to keep the roads clear, and 15 pieces of heavy equipment primed to hit the streets as necessary. Crews are ready to cut down any branches impacted by winds.
A full complement of DPW employees will be working Friday, with a night shift ready to roll as necessary.
