After being elected to a second term as a Hudson County Freeholder in November, Anthony Vainieri was officially sworn in by North Bergen Mayor and State Senator Nicholas Sacco on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Vainieri represents the 8th District, including North Bergen and parts of Secaucus and Jersey City.
Elected as a freeholder by an overwhelming majority in November of 2014, Vainieri took office in January 2015 with a three-year term. He succeeded Freeholder Thomas Liggio, who retired after more than 30 years in elected office.
There will be a public swearing-in ceremony on 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Freeholder Chambers, 567 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City.
