More than 1,000 toys were collected for North Bergen’s 4th annual holiday toy drive, sponsored by Mayor Nicholas Sacco, the board of commissioners, and NB C.A.R.E.S.
Kids and families came to the Recreation Center on Wednesday, Dec. 20 to select free toys and gifts for the holidays. Bags of food and frozen chickens were also available for needy families, along with Christmas trees, wrapping paper, stockings, and stocking stuffers.
Toys and financial contributions were provided by local residents and businesses, with generous support from Walmart, Acme Edgewater, Avalon Bay, the North Hudson Islamic Center, Trademark Design & Printing, the police officers and supervisors unions, local teachers, CarePoint Health, and the Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation.
Many volunteers pitched in to help make this year’s event the biggest so far, with many residents expressing their sincere appreciation for the township’s support and assistance this holiday season.
