Mayor Nicholas Sacco and the township commissioners welcomed a crowd of thousands of local residents and guests at North Bergen’s annual Winterfest celebration on Thursday, Nov. 30.
“Winterfest is a tradition of over 20 years in North Bergen,” said Mayor Sacco. “It is a tradition for our community and it kicks off the holiday season for everyone. I would like to thank all the residents that came out and all the volunteers that made this winter celebration possible.”
The township’s largest annual event, Winterfest began with a holiday parade from 85th street and Bergenline Avenue down to 76th street. That entire area of 10 city blocks was set aside for the festivities, which included rides and games for kids, performances by North Bergen school choruses, free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a petting zoo and horse and buggy rides, face painting, food, music, and tons of fun for the whole family.
