The lake renovations in James J. Braddock North Hudson Park are on schedule for completion by the end of October. The huge rejuvenation project included draining the lake to build an entirely new retaining wall, in addition to new paths, new decorative benches, and landscaping for the island.
On top of that, the section of Braddock Park known as the Corral, located on Boulevard East between 8500 and 8900, will undergo a beautification project beginning Wednesday, Oct. 4. Paths throughout the Corral will be redone, with a new stone planter in the middle. The area will overlook the lake and is expected to be completed within two weeks.
A new community garden is also coming to the area south of the Corral. Everything should be completed and open to the public before Halloween.
