North Bergen Township administration has determined that certain local roads are in need of maintenance as a result of service work done by PSE&G. As a result the Township has stepped forward on behalf of residents to ensure that PSE&G will repair and repave these streets as soon as possible.
Although the initial plans called for streets to be paved in June, the Township found this timetable unacceptable and secured an agreement from PSE&G to begin paving the streets that are most in need of repairs beginning in early May.
In addition, the North Bergen Department of Public Works has stepped in to provide spot repairs in some places to ensure that roads are safe and drivable.
Given the serious condition of certain roads, the Township met with PSE&G to request a phone number for residents to report claims of damage to vehicles. To report a claim, call PSE&G at 1-800-CLAIM88 (1-800-252-4688).
The Township has secured this commitment from PSE&G to improve North Bergen’s roadways at no cost to the taxpayer, saving residents money while enhancing local communities and neighborhoods.
