The North Bergen Police Department has posted on their website a detailed annual report for 2016, listing comparative crime statistics for the past few years along with information on prominent cases, officers of the month, and much more.
Among the many achievements of the department last year, the NBPD became an accredited law enforcement agency in New Jersey, Police Chief Robert Dowd obtained accredited chief executive status, and Deputy Chief Peter Fasilis obtained accredited command executive status. Dowd and Fasilis were invited the White House with approximately 30 other police executives from around the nation to meet with senior advisors to President Obama for a discussion on the implementation of a taskforce report on 21st century policing.
The NBPD annual report is dedicated to the department’s compliance with the president’s taskforce report.
Chief Dowd presented the annual report at the Board of Commissioners meeting on April 26, where it was approved by resolution and Mayor Nicholas Sacco offered warm congratulations on the outstanding results achieved by the department in 2016.
