The township hosted its second Town-Stat meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the North Bergen Police Department’s Crime Prevention and Intelligence Center (CPIC), located at police headquarters.
The Town-Stat concept has been adopted by the township as part of a larger policing strategy that reinforces local partnerships and allows all municipal departments to participate in the common goal of increasing public safety, and in turn, the quality of life for the residents of North Bergen. Town-Stat meetings bring all municipal departments together to share their roles and address public safety. Facilitating collaboration between all of our municipal resources greatly enhances the police department’s ability to address crime and disorder before it becomes a public safety issue.
Attending the meeting were representatives from the Health Department, DPW, Parking Authority, Building Department, and more. Discussions ran the gamut of issues involving resident safety and quality-of-life issues throughout the township.
