Enrollment in this free program is an easy process and grants business owners many great benefits, including sales tax exemptions for corporate purchases, employee tax credits, low interest loans, and best of all, the ability to charge your customers only 3.5 percent sales tax.

Membership in North Bergen’s Urban Enterprise Zone Program offers the following benefits:

For eligible retail items, charge only 3.5% sales tax
Pay 0% sales tax on office and business equipment
Pay 0% sales tax on advertising materials, contractor services, and general services such as janitorial and maintenance
Pay 0% sales tax on building materials, repair of machinery and equipment, and renovations to your office or building
Pay 0% sales tax on the purchase of office supplies
Receive tax credits for the hiring of certain new employees
